Say Goodbye To the Custom Softails :
In 1984 Harley-Davidson unveils the 1340cc V Twin Evolution engine on five models including the all-new SoftailŽ. The result of seven years of development, the Evolution engine produces more power at every speed, runs cooler, cleaner and is oil-tight. Also witnessed is the debut of the Softail design and its trend-setting method of "hiding" the motorcycle's rear shock absorbers.
I was driving a 1979 Sporty at the time, and I knew life would never be the same with the introduction of the Custom Softail !
Death And Taxes ;
Two this you can count on for me, is showing up at Sturgis each August and our Fall Coloramia here in Wisconsin.
For me, Sturgis is about the only time I can forget all the hussle and bussle of daily life. For about 9days (give or take a few days) I can really enjoy the freedom of the open road,meet new people and laugh about past events.
Riding up to Tomahawk Wisconsin for the Fall Coloramia, reminds me of the ol' days where if a bike breaks down we find the closest Farm CO-OP.In Tomahawh I get to swap spit with some of Harley brite brass, and remind them about the riders who put them where they are today.I know they don't like what I have to say, but as my biker buddies were riding BMWs,Nortons and Hondas into the sunset I was pushing mine home in the dark. For some reason, I never considered buying a Honda.
